Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of CookBuddy (the “Service”), operated by LearnBuddy, a company based in Singapore (“CookBuddy”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use the Service. You are responsible for your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. You agree to provide accurate information and to be responsible for all activity under your account.

2. Your content

You retain ownership of the recipes, photos, plans, and other content you create or upload (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited licence to host, process, and display Your Content as needed to operate the Service — including sharing it with members of households you participate in, and processing it through AI features you request.

You are responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the rights needed to use it. Do not upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or that you do not have permission to share.

3. Imported & third-party content

The Service lets you import recipes from external websites, videos, and images. Imported recipes retain attribution and a link back to their original source, and we do not claim ownership of that source content. If you are a rights holder and believe content should be removed, please submit a takedown request and we will review it promptly.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
• Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or its systems.
• Abuse, automate, or circumvent usage limits, including AI feature quotas.
• Upload malware or content that is harmful, abusive, or infringes the rights of others.

5. Plans, billing & AI limits

CookBuddy offers a free plan and paid plans (Pro and Family). Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis through our payment provider. AI features are subject to the usage limits shown for your plan, which are displayed via in-app usage meters. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time from your account settings; changes generally take effect at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.

6. AI features & accuracy

AI-generated content — including extracted recipes, nutrition estimates, suggestions, healthier variants, and translations — may be inaccurate or incomplete. Use your own judgement, especially regarding allergies, dietary restrictions, food safety, and health decisions. The Service does not provide medical or nutritional advice.

7. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that may cause harm or legal liability.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CookBuddy and LearnBuddy will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service.

10. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may modify the Service or these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes to these Terms, we will update the “last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
