Instructions
- 1
Chop the onion. Heat a frying pan over medium-low heat with the olive oil, add the onion, and cook until golden, tender, and translucent, 20-25 minutes. Transfer to a bowl and cool.
22:30 timer - 2
Add the ground beef, salt, and pepper to a bowl and mix lightly. Divide into 4 equal portions and press into patties about ½ inch thick.
- 3
Preheat a grill over medium-high and oil the grates. Cook the patties 2 minutes, rotate 90° for crosshatch marks and cook 2 more minutes, then flip and cook about 4 minutes to your liking. In the last minute, brush with teriyaki sauce and top with cheddar to melt.
8:00 timer - 4
Grill the pineapple slices 2 minutes per side. Meanwhile, toast the burger buns on the grill.
4:00 timer - 5
Spread Kewpie mayo on each bottom bun. Top with shredded lettuce and tomato, then layer the patty, grilled pineapple, and caramelized onion. Drizzle with teriyaki sauce, add the top bun, and serve.
