Instructions
- 1
Trim off the bottom part of the cabbage and remove the tough inner core.
- 2
Cut the remaining cabbage leaves into large, chunky pieces and set them aside.
- 3
Add the cooking oil to a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- 4
Once the oil is hot, add the minced garlic and saute just until it begins to sizzle and smell fragrant. Move quickly — garlic burns fast on medium-high heat and can turn bitter.
- 5
Add the peeled shrimp and stir-fry constantly for 1 to 2 minutes, until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through.
1:30 timer - 6
Add the cabbage pieces to the skillet and stir to combine well with the shrimp and garlic.
- 7
Pour the oyster sauce and water straight over the top.
- 8
Stir continuously and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, until the cabbage wilts, softens, and is cooked through. Keep the heat at medium-high so the leaves stay crisp and do not turn soggy.
3:30 timer - 9
Season with salt to taste, then dish out and serve immediately.
