Peel and chop the ear of corn into 1-inch thick rounds.

Peel and chop the 2 potatoes into large chunks.

Peel and chop the 2 carrots into large, irregular "roll-cut" pieces.

Halve and chop the large tomato into large wedges.

Halve and slice the medium white onion into thick slices, then separate the layers.

Place the 350g pork ribs in a wok or pot with cold water, ensuring they are submerged.

Bring the water to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, continue to cook for 1 minute to blanch the ribs.

Remove the blanched pork ribs from the wok and rinse them thoroughly under cold water to clean.

Crush 1 tablespoon of white peppercorns in a mortar and pestle until coarsely ground. Do not grind into a fine powder.

Add the cleaned pork ribs and chopped corn to a large soup pot.

Add the crushed white peppercorns to the pot.

Pour about 2 liters of water into the pot, ensuring all ingredients are mostly submerged.

Bring the soup to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, cover the pot, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 15 minutes.

After 15 minutes, open the lid and add the chopped potatoes and carrots to the pot.

Bring the soup back to a boil over high heat. Skim off any foam that rises to the surface.

Cover the pot, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for another 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes, open the lid and add the chopped tomatoes and sliced onions to the pot.

Season the soup with 1 teaspoon of salt, or adjust to your taste. Stir well to combine.
